Garden restaurant design & build

A garden restaurant sells the outdoor experience — but the outdoors brings its own engineering problems: rain, sun, insects and living greenery. AIC delivers design and build through a single point of contact, so the garden stays beautiful and durable through every season.

What makes it different

Garden restaurant design & build — get it right from design

A garden restaurant draws guests with green, open space, but it is also the format most easily ruined by careless work: leaks and standing water, insects, outdoor lighting and wiring degrading, feature plants dying off. Hidden packages — rain drainage, canopies, waterproofing and weather-resistant materials — are what decide whether the venue stays beautiful year round or cycles through repairs after every rainy season.

Done right

The items that decide quality

Greenery, landscaping & irrigation

Plants chosen for the light and climate, balanced landscape features, and irrigation and drainage for the planted zones — so the greenery thrives with little upkeep and no waterlogged roots.

Canopies & rain drainage

Canopies, skylights or pergolas need proper falls, gutters and rainwater routes — so outdoor zones stay usable in light rain, with no drips and no ponding on the floor.

Insect control

Open spaces attract mosquitoes and insects. Repellent planting, insect traps, screening at the kitchen and well-planned lighting keep guests comfortable — especially in the evening.

Weatherproof outdoor lighting

Garden lighting, sockets and wiring must be IP-rated for water exposure and routed concealed and safely — creating beautiful night-time light while preventing shorts and failures in rain and humidity.

Weather-resistant materials

Outdoor flooring, furniture and structures in materials that stand up to sun and rain — exterior-grade timber, stone, galvanised steel or wood-plastic composite — staying colourfast, slip-safe and termite-free across the seasons.

Natural ventilation & shading

Wind direction, greenery and canopies are used for natural cooling to ease the air-conditioning load, while harsh midday sun is screened out so outdoor seating stays comfortable all day.

Frequently asked questions

Garden restaurant design & build

How does a garden restaurant differ from an indoor one?

Mainly in the outdoor engineering: rain drainage and waterproofing, canopies, insect control, IP-rated lighting and electrics, and materials and planting that survive sun and rain. These packages decide whether the venue stays beautiful year round, and they must be planned from the design stage rather than patched later.

How much does a garden restaurant fit-out cost?

Cost depends on the garden area, the scale of greenery and landscaping, the canopy system and finish level. AIC takes off quantities and prepares a detailed BOQ in about 4 hours from the floor plan — realistic numbers and contract-locked pricing before you commit.

Does AIC deliver the landscaping and canopies too?

Yes. AIC builds through one point of contact: architecture and interiors, greenery and landscaping, canopies and rain drainage, and outdoor MEP — controlling schedule and quality as one coordinated package instead of splitting it across crews.

Start with a detailed BOQ.

Send us your floor plan — AIC prepares a detailed BOQ in about 4 working hours, with locked pricing and handover milestones in the contract.
